Times, they are a-changin'.
After 16 years of marriage I am single again. The details are boring
and I won't bother anyone with them. I never thought that at age 50
I would be starting over again, but I guess I am.
I see Erin often. She
is dealing with the changes as best she can.
I bought a small house in
town. It's only 1300 square feet, but it's fine for me. Moonie
(the cat) moved in with me for now. She has been an outdoor cat all
her life so I wonder how she will adjust but she seems to have made
herself at home.

I was elected President
of the American Deafness and Rehabilitation Association and assume office in
July. Read more about ADARA HERE As if
I didn't have enough to do! Still it's a great honor and I'm is humbled
by the trust that my fellow professionals have put in me. Plus I got to have dinner with Bob Davila - and that is almost worth the 2 years of
headaches that I will have to endure!
I was also given a special
award by the National Association of the Deaf and the Alabama Association of
the Deaf, called "Golden Hands," in recognition of my work in
setting up the Office of Deaf Services in Alabama. I was
"speechless."

I have not entirely cut back
my consulting work. I have done several multi-day workshops
on mental health interpreting. Weird since I'm not an
interpreter. I'm also involved in some things with the National
Association of the Deaf and their Mental Health Task Force. LifeSigns stuff is HERE.

If course,
this is my most important link! Erin is my pride and joy. I can never
tell her enough how proud I am of her. She is all "Hamerdinger"
(for better or worse!)
I'm helping Erin build a page. Check it out HERE

I had a once in a lifetime
chance to play golf at Pebble Beach last summer. If you are
curious, click on the logo for more information.
Speaking of golf, Alabama is one of
the top golf destinations in the country, thanks to the Robert Trent Jones
Golf Trail. Check it out HERE!
